How it adds up

How we calculate.

We calculate with the Dutch prices per user/month on an annual subscription with annual billing, excl. VAT, as published by Microsoft (as of June 2026): Business Basic €5.20, Business Standard €10.83, Business Premium €19.06. Note: from 1 July 2026 Microsoft is raising the prices of many licences (Business Basic +16.7%, Business Standard +12%; Business Premium unchanged); the new price applies from your next renewal after that date (Connectworks, 2026).

Which licence suits which employee type — and why not everyone needs Premium — we explain in Microsoft 365 prices per user (2026). If you are weighing up Microsoft 365 against Google Workspace, read the comparison.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know.

Are these the current Microsoft prices?

We calculate with the prices per user per month on an annual subscription with annual billing, excl. VAT, as Microsoft publishes them for the Netherlands in June 2026: Basic €5.20, Standard €10.83, Premium €19.06. Prices can change; before making a final choice, always check Microsoft's current price list.

Which licence does each employee need?

Rule of thumb: employees who only use email and web apps can run on Basic; anyone working daily in the desktop apps of Word, Excel and Outlook needs Standard; and Premium adds security and device management (Intune, Defender, conditional access) — sensible for anyone handling sensitive data, or for the whole organisation as a security standard.

Can I mix licences within one organisation?

Yes, and that is precisely where the saving comes from: you assign a licence per user from the same tenant. A mix by employee type quickly saves tens of percent compared with putting everyone on the same (heaviest) plan.
